Wayne Grudem (born 1948) is married to Margaret and lives in Arizona, USA. They have three sons, Elliot, Oliver and Alexander. Elliot Grudem, a pastor at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, is married to Kacey and they have a daughter. Oliver is a graphic designer; he is married to Sarah, and they have a baby daughter. Alexander, their youngest, lives in Minnesota and teaches history and literature in a private high school.
Having taught at Trinity Evangelical School of Divinity for 20 years, Wayne and Margaret moved to Arizona in 2001. The move, prompted by Wayne's desire to find a better environment for Margaret to recover from an auto accident, began a new chapter in the Grudem family. Wayne became Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary.
A love and passion for research and the Word of God had previously resulted in a BA from Harvard University, a Master of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom.
Wayne has written extensively. His book, Systematic Theology, is used worldwide to train pastors and leaders in the main doctrines of the Bible. In Dr. Grudem's desire to make this teaching more widely available he produced condensed versions in Bible Doctrine, and Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know. These culminated in the Christian Beliefs DVD discipleship course which makes this teaching more accessible than ever.
As well as being the general editor for the ESV Study Bible, Grudem has written and edited numerous titles, including: Biblical Foundations for Manhood and Womanhood, Business for the Glory of God, The First Epistle of Peter (commentary), and The Gift of Prophecy in the New Testament and Today.
Grudem is also a past president of the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.
